Doll Accessory Organization-(oh my)-Clothes

      Hello doll lovers!! I have been going through my collection to separate what I am going to keep and what I will be selling I really want to try to start selling on ebay soon so I need to get everything organized. Pray for me, there is a lot going on in this collection for sure. 

     My first order of business was to tackle the clothes, I did have those some what organized, I had them in ziploc bags. I had then organized by decade (sorta) and what type of clothes they were. Like I had a bag with 80s/90s dresses and then a bag with newer shirts and one with pants (you get the drift). I also have some bags that have outfits pieces that go together so I don't have to look for the pieces separate. 

      What I decided to do was put them in to small bins to make it easier to look for the clothes I need because when I needed an outfit I had to dump all the bags out find the right bag, then dump that out to find the outfit. Now I should just have to pull the bin out and look through that. I plan on keeping all my clothes because most of the time I find dolls nude and I do not like to sell them that way and it is nice to match a doll up with their correct outfit. 

       I have 4 bigger bins that have 80s shirts and pants, late 90s early 00s pants and shirts, princess (or big) dresses and the small baggies of outfit pieces. Then I have 3 small bins that have 70s and some 60s clothes (had more of these than I thought), late 80s/early 90s dresses and newer late 00s clothes. I have to get 4 more bins for monster high, bratz boys and girls and ken clothes. I had small bins but no lids (very frustrating, it's like where did they go??). I haven't used this system yet and other than it taking up more room than it used to I think this is going to work out good. 

First Salvation Army Doll Finds Of The Year (probably in 6 months)-Monster High-Liv

     Hello doll lovers!! The thrift gods was looking down on my this week, I have been going a little crazy with the monster high and ever after high dolls. I never get on ebay or mercari to look for dolls cause I have so many that I really don't need to. Those sites are really expensive but I was so determined I needed some of these dolls that yes...... I bought some off line and I do regret it now cause I paid way more than I should have for them and now it makes me sad and doesn't bring me joy so I made myself promise that that was done. But I did tell myself if I find them thrifting that was ok, so lo and behold these beauties was at my salvation army this week for 2.99 a piece!! 

      I found a 13 wishes frankie in barbie clothes (thought she was sweet 1600 or I probably wouldn't have bought her). Then I found what I thought was 1600 draculaura but now I think it is forbitten love with the outfit to 1600 (her hair does not have tinsel but her eye make up is glittery so from my research that is what I came to the conclusion, but I now that I am looking at her pic it looks like she has the mark for 1600 on her face so I don't know.... She is in storage now so I can't take a good look but when I do I will update). Then there is the classroom science set with cleo and ghoulia (I have this set already but these come with more accessories to I will sell the other set). There is dead tired abby with no shoes but her outfit and I found a briar beauty chapter one doll (she is only missing her shoes and hair accessory again I have this doll but this one was more complete). 

      Lastly I found the sophie twist and dance liv doll in a bin with twist and dance daniela's outfit, so that means daniela was around somewhere but I didn't see her. For some reason this liv doll was in a bin for .59 but the monster high dolls was in plastic bags at the front for 2.99. I guess they know that monster high and ever after high dolls are sought after but so are the liv dolls and this one was very clean with clothes but no wig. I loved her face and eye makeup I was happy to get her especially for .59. There was other dolls there but they were just regular barbies so I left those for someone else. Over all was super happy with my finds and it makes me think there may be more there that they didn't put out since the clothes was on other dolls but you never know. 

 

The Lord Is Trying To Tell Me Something.....

      The lord is trying to tell me I need to not be buying dolls online. He is telling me I already have too many and need to deal with them first. Ok, lord I hear you and thanks for the help..... The reason I am saying this is because I have been having very bad luck with online doll sales. I am a bit dissappointed but let me explain why.... 

      First off this blog is about being a thrifty doll hunter and when you purchase them off line it is not that thrifty. So my quest began a week ago I am not sure why but I got it in my head (which is never a good thing) that I needed more ever after high and monster high dolls. Not sure if you know this or not but they are pretty expensive, even the broken ones and the ones missing hands...... 

       I did find an amazing lot of dolls there was ever after high, monster high and barbie! I even got an amazing deal on them so of course that was it I was on the hunt. Because of this my judgement got a little cloudy and I was paying more than I really wanted to or offering more than I wanted. So I bought they lot off of ebay (it has yet to ship..... over a week later... shipping label was printed but the item wasn't shipped.... I will be so sad if these dolls do not come). 

       Now on to strike 2..... Over on mercari (which I am going to say that I will NEVER buy from this app again they do nothing to make the sellers ship the items!!!) I found a really good set of 6 monster high dolls, they had their clothes shoes and all the limbs and hands. After shipping it came out to $40 (which is not very thrifty to me but they did have original clothes and shoes) I waited for a week for her to ship the item. She sent me two messages with excuses then I put in for a cancel on the lot (was sad but tired of waiting) she then messages me to tell me it is ready to be shipped and she is adding extra, well ok then I am excited to get it. Well...... today when it was supposed to be shipped I got an email that the seller has cancelled my item. AFTER 9 F****** DAYS!!! Are you serious and after not taking my cancel and telling me it was ready and I would get more???? I am livid as I'm sure you can tell. 

         Then on ebay I had given two offers on a lot of 6 dolls again but they were ignored so there went that. I did get a barbie bmr1959 doll that i wanted for a good price and she did get her in a good time frame (seems like that is the only one that is going to show up). I am really hoping my first lot of dolls shows up cause I am so sad right now.

       Back to mercari, see why I said god is saying no. I saw a lot of dolls for only $15 with shipping that had just been listed that was sold. Then I found another lot of dolls that was about $35 but it had a lot of dolls, monster high, barbie and bratz (I was going to sell the ones I didn't need). That one too had just been listed for maybe 15 min. so I decided to get it put all my info in to be told, sorry item not available. I am like are you kidding me...... 

       Lastly here is my last sign that online doll shopping is not going to work out for me. This is really my fault but I also blame mercari some too, their customer service is crap. I jumped the gun a bit and bought a lot with a create a monster doll and some clothes, I paid $25 for it and instantly regretted it especially when I seen that the doll had a different body than her limbs so I went back in and cancelled the order. Well..... The seller made a shipping label for it so I couldn't cancel it. They sent me a message telling me that their brother had dropped it off at the post office the next moring. So here I am 5 days later and the package hasn't moved (just like the ebay one). So what they did was printed the label so mercari wouldn't cancel it but haven't shipped it yet. I tried to contact mercari cause I want my money back but because it is in transit I can't get anyone to answer me...... I tell you if this doesn't teach me a lesson I don't know what will. **Update-the ebay box came I am so happy! A 2 part haul will be up soon!!**

A Closer Look At My Collection-Monster High-Lagoona Blue-Mad Science-Wheel Love

     Hello doll lovers!! Today we are taking a look at our ghoul lagoona blue, I got both of these dolls at the goodwill (at different times) both was in bags with other dolls and cost me less than $2 a piece. First we have mad science I believe she is complete with accessories, she even had her classroom stuff and extra outfit. Then there is wheel love that was a two pack with gil (who was not included in the bundle boo hoo) she is complete except for her elbow pads. I have been collecting for years so that is why I have had some amazing deals on these monster high dolls, it is crazy the prices these dolls are online. 

 

What dolls I REALLY Don't Want In My Collection.....

     Hello doll lovers!! Wow! So many rambling blogs this week, guess I am having an epiphany. Is it that or am I going into a manic mood, we never know. So I did a post a couple days ago about the dolls I want in my collection so I thought it would fun (my idea of fun is sad) to make a list of dolls I have in my collection right now that I need to sell. 

-Bratz (please don't kill me but they don't bring me joy and I have a lot of these guys/girls)

-La Dee Da (I got a good size lot of these dolls this fall for pretty cheap but they are too cartoony for me)

-Celebrity Dolls (I'm looking at you Erica Cane dolls, there are a few exceptions to this but not many)

-Smaller Dolls (Stacie, Chelsea dolls like those)

-Disney Princess (Mostly the Hasbro ones there are a couple I really like from the disney store)

-DC Super Hero Girls (these are so pretty and articulated but again to much cartoon)

-Moxie Girls (they are so cute and that's the problem)

      Like the last post I'm sure there are other doll lines I am forgetting right now but these are the main ones. It is hard for me to get rid of dolls because I have gotten rid of dolls in the past and really regretted it. One that stands out are the fairy tale high dolls, these dolls was made to compete with ever after high (I guess) and I had four dolls from the set and they had clothes and everything, I sold them and now wish I had them they were really pretty and now very expensive to buy. So when I get rid of dolls I always think about that, but I am going to get past that cause I need to relieve myself of all this extra clutter. Most of these dolls was bought because they are really good deals and a lot of other people love them so I thought gotta have it, I realize I'm very easy to convince about anything so if you say it is awesome I am like yeah it is. I also want to note that when I was purchasing a good bit of these dolls for the past 5 years I was expecting to sale them, I was in denial about being a doll collector. 

 

A Closer Look At My Collection-Monster High-Freaky Fusion Sirena Van Boo-Scaris Rochelle Goyle

     Hello doll lovers!! Found some more of my monster high dolls that are mostly complete. In This post is freaky fusion sirena von boo and scaris rochelle goyle. Sirena is only missing her fringe arm cuffs, she was in a box of dolls from goodwill, she cost me less than $1. Scaris rochelle is complete, she even has her bracelets, I found her at goodwill for .99!! Both of these dolls was purchased years ago. 

 

Walmart Find and Box Opening-Barbie Extra #2

     Hello doll lovers!! I have been wanting a barbie extra for my collection since they came out, of course I didn't want to pay the 24.88 for one so I waited and this girl went on sale for $15. She just happens to be the one I really wanted, the curvy girl! 

      Of course I opened her (her box was trashed might be why they had her on clearance) and she was a bit hard to get out of the box but we did it. I love her hair and outfit and the fact she is articulated so she is very posable. I did not like the yellow beanie (that is why I took it off) and the fact she came with a plastic dog instead of a second outfit. Don't get me wrong the dog is cute but why???  She has a very pretty face and her makeup is light but I like it, and I like her alot better with the glasses on her head instead of that hat. As you can see I used the fashionista box I got with my other doll to display her!! I like this alot cause I can keep her accessories together and you can still see her! 

       Now let's talk quality and price, do I think she is good quality, the answer is yes, she is not a light hollow doll and her hair and clothes are very nice. Do I think she is worth 24.88...... No...... If she had an extra outfit instead of the plastic dog, than yes she would be worth that but as is I think they need to think about that. There are other dolls out at that price point that has a lot more with them. Do I think she was worth the $15 I paid, yes I do, like I said the quality is there just not the quantity but maybe mattel will see that and next series they will put fashions instead of pets...... 

 

What Dolls I REALLY Want In My Collection.....

      Hello doll lovers!! A couple days ago (maybe we all know how I upload, sorry not sorry) I made a post about when to draw the line with my collecting. I said that I was only going to purchase the dolls I want in my collection from now on. I did this with my vintage items (I have a blog for that too, if you want to check it out) and it seems to be going really well, of course I don't post over there a lot because I am not buying a lot of stuff but that is a good thing right??? So I thought it would be fun to list all the dolls I want in my collection..... This should be real fun..... 

-Monster High (not because I grew up with them but I just think they are pretty dolls)

-Ever After High (again not for nostalgia but because they are pretty)

-Barbie Fashionistas (I love these dolls because they are so diverse and different)

-80s Barbies (strictly for the nostalgia and they are pretty too)

-90s Barbies (only some of these I have to really love it to be in my collection)

-Barbie My Scene (I love the look of these dolls plus they are hard to find so that makes me want them)

-Barbie Collector (I never get lucky to find these dolls but if I do they will be added)

-Liv (I love these dolls with their inset eyes)

-Moxie Teens (another very hard to find doll but if I come upon one I'll get it)

-Maxie (I loved these dolls when I was a kid and they are hard to find now but I have found 2)

-Jem and the Holograms (oh yes cause she is truly outrageous) 

-Some vintage dolls (I do have a few crissy's and ideal thumbelina but these are a really have to love thing)

     Well.... That wasn't so bad I am sure I missed a couple but for the most part this is were I want my collection to go, just the dolls that I really love and want. Of course I know there will be that doll every now and then that I think is very pretty and just have to have and that is ok too but I need to look hard and see if it will fit into my collection. I did join a doll facebook group and let's just say I found my people, they love dolls and do not care what anyone thinks. Now don't get me wrong there are few that take it too far but who am I to judge?? Let's see if I can keep up the energy when yard sale season starts and my doll lady starts setting up again, that lady has some awesome things and her prices are amazing, oh no so much temptation. 

A Closer Look At My Collection-Monster High Dolls-Clawdeen-Ghouls Rule-Frights Camera Action

     Hello doll lovers!! Today is another installment of a closer look at my collection, in today's post we have 2 clawdeens. First we have ghouls rule with her extravagant outfit and long purple hair, she has all her accessories and shoes. She was purchased in a bag of monster high dolls at goodwill, think I paid less then $2 for her about 3 years ago. 

      Then I found frights camera action clawdeen just last year in a bag at goodwill again and she was around $2 too. She has her outfit, shoes and some accessories. I love it when I find dolls in their clothes with shoes, the accessories are a bonus but I just want them to be dressed! 

 

Walmart Find and Box Opening-Barbie Fashionista #156

     Hello doll lovers!! I did something I have never done before.... I bought a barbie fasionista at full price.... I usually only buy them on sale I have never paid more than $5 (and that was a set with extra clothes) for one of these dolls but I had to have this one. 

       If you have seen some of my hauls then you know that I love the older 80s 90s barbies they are from my childhood. What you may not know is I love the Kira/Miko face sculpt from that era. So when I seen this girl in a review on youtube I was like ok, I gotta have the Kira face sculpt. I could have waited till she went on sale but she may have sold. I do love her dark skin and her hair, the outfit isn't my favorite but I will leave her in it (I like them to have their original outfit if possible). 

         She was 7.94 and I think the price point is worth it but the reason I wait for a sale is because I can't afford them all at regular price. She also camein the new plastic packaging, at first I was like what am I going to do with this? Then I ended up using it to display my barbie extra so I could keep all of her pieces together! Unless they come out with another Kira face sculpt I don't plan on buying these full price, unless there is another Kira face I don't know about.... 

 

When You Collect, Where Do You Draw The Line.....

      Hello doll lovers!! Today's post is another one of my rambling posts, sometimes these turn out good other times you wonder if my sanity has left the building, let's see where this goes..... As you see by the title I am asking the question, where do you draw the line when it comes to collecting.  As you can see I am a collector of many things and at times I focus on a certain thing for a while then back off for a bit. Doll collecting has been something that I haven't backed off on for a couple years now. Well.... I did get into collecting pyrex for a while but it was right back to dolls. 

       As of right now I have about 5 totes of dolls in storage and you know how big totes are and how small dolls are so you can imagine how many dolls I have right now. Now I will say most of them are waiting to be cleaned up and a lot of those will be sold (I hope) but wow that is a lot and I just keep looking for more. I have recently ventured online to purchase dolls which is something I NEVER did but with yard sales not going on and the thrift stores being bare I needed a fix. Which I know sounds bad I mean come on you can't hold off on buying dolls for 6 months...... I told myself that from now on I will not purchase any dolls off line if I can't get them thrifting I don't need them. 

         Now that problem is solved (I guess) let's talk about the problem with my 5 totes of dolls in storage. First off there are many different types of dolls in my "collection", they range from barbie to monster high to liv dolls to bratz dolls I mean if there was a doll line of something I probably have it. So it got me to thinking exactly what dolls do I really want to collect and the fact that a lot of times I only buy certain dolls because I find them at a good price. That is no good cause then you are collecting everything and driving yourself nuts. I will say that when I was lurking online I looked up a lot of doll lines and thought why are you looking these up??? You don't need anymore and that is just crazy, like if I would have seen them at a good price would I have bought them??? Probably..... And that's a problem. 

        It's a problem because I have hoarder tendencies anyways (check out my hoarder post on here for that good time) and I just don't need all of the extra items. I can't display any of my dolls right now cause of space issues so they have to be stored then when I do have space they have to be able to fit and buying every good deal doll will not fit in any space. So I have decided to start only buying dolls that I want to collect and nothing extra no matter how good of a deal it is. A good example of this is a couple of posts down I bought a ariel doll that lit up for $2 brand new at walmart because it was a good deal, do I need that in my collection, no I am not 5 (but she is really pretty). The only exception I am making is if I know it will sell good and I can make some money back buying something not in my collection, but this is a slippery slope because most of the dolls I ended up with are dolls that I thought would sell well. Guess I am just going to have to manage my expectations and keep myself in check 2021 needs to be the year I say no to myself and mean it! 

       

A Closer Look At My Collection... Monster High Dolls-Inner Monster-Fangtastic Love/Fearfully Feisty

      Hello doll lovers!! Was going threw some of my monster high dolls today and decided to share a few of my ones that have their clothes and most accessories. I have bought all of my collection from thrift stores or yard sales (so far). 

       This is the fangtastic love/fearfully feisty inner monster doll, I got her at a yard sale for $2 probably 3 years ago. The wig and masks belong to a different inner monster but they fit her too, those was purchased at salvation army for .10 a piece about 2 years ago. She was in her outifit when I found her but I had to add the shoes. 

         Her eyes can change to three different designs and she has a clear torso so you can see her rib cage and she is supposed to come with small things you can put inside of her torso but mine did not come with those (in fact I did not take a pic of her torso for some reason. She was also supposed to come with different accessories but when you find things thrifted most of the time they are missing parts. 

 

Walmart Clearance Find and Unboxing-Mattel Cave Club Three Pack

     Hello doll lovers!! Walmart has a had some clearance toys the past few weeks, it isn't as much as they usually have but there have been a couple things and also a couple things I have missed out on (rainbow high and lol omg to name a couple, grrrrrr). 

     Found this tree pack of mattel cave club dolls for $5 so I decided to get them and see what I thought. Of course I said that these was not something I was interested in collecting but I guess if the price is right you do it. I was really surprised at how much I liked them and what good quality they are. Not sure if I will be getting anymore but the 9.44 price tag that they sell for seems good to me and that is saying something. 

 

Walmart Clearance Find and Unboxing-Glitter and Glow Disney Ariel The Little Mermaid Doll

      Hello doll lovers!! Took a stroll down walmarts clearance aisle the other day and found a couple items. I will say that there is not very much toy clearance, usually there are shelves of clearance at this time. I was a little disappointed but atleast I found something. This is the glitter and glow disney pricess ariel doll I got her for $2, she is regular price 19.88 (I will say she is pretty but made very cheaply, hallow arms and body I wouldn't want to pay that much for her but the $2 I paid is just fine).

      She has a tail that is clear and filled with water, glitter and plastic sea creatures. She has a button on the top of her tail that you can push and the tail lights up. She is really pretty when her tail is lit up with the glitter floating around, she also has a picture of king tritans castle in the background of her tail. I am not normally a disney princess doll collector but I made an exception for her, I thought she was very pretty and love her tail. That's usually how it goes, I see something that catches my eye and everything changes....
