Restoration Time... Vintage My Little Pony-Gusty

Took some time today to work on one of my ponies (trying to dip my toe back in so I can start on the dolls). She wasn't too bad just a little dirty and her tail was a little tangled. It is funny how these toys usually only need a small amount of work to look amazing again. I really do enjoy working on these dolls and other toys. Wanted to get all the ponies done today but had other work to get done first (as I always do). Hoping by next week to have all the ponies done so I can list them.

Before...
During... I always use a paper towel to make sure the dye from the hair doesn't get on the pony.
After!!! She came out so good.

Goodwill 2.99 Bag of Dolls

Hello doll lovers!! Stopped by the goodwill today for a bit and found a 2.99 bag of dolls. My goodwill puts most of their dolls in bags unless they come in single. I like that because you can get a better price than if they are separate (my store prices dolls from .99 to 2.99 just depends). Thought it would be fun to see what all was in the bag. There ended up being 4 dolls and some odds and ends. I was a little disappointed because first off the bag had a faint cigarette smell (I hate that smell) and the mermaid barbie had one of her hands chewed badly (had to throw her away). I kept a couple odds but threw away the ends ;) Still for 2.99 I think it was a good find. I am sure the cigarette smell will go away it will be awhile till these girls get makeovers so I can do some tricks to help get rid of it.by then. Going to some yard sales tomorrow so hopefully I will have better luck there!

1.99 Goodwill Find Spinmasters Luvabella

Hello doll lovers!! I do not usually buy baby dolls but when I seen this girl at the goodwill for only 1.99 I had to make an exception. This is a relatively new doll I was surprised that she was already in a thrift store. She is a spinmasters Luvabella doll. Here is what the website says about her......
"Discover all there is to love about Luvabella! From the moment she opens her eyes and giggles, this interactive baby doll will amaze you with her real as can be facial expressions and personality! A delight for kids and parents alike, Luvabella moves, talks and plays just like a real baby! Through touch, she affectionately responds to your love! Cover her eyes for a game of peek-a-boo, tickle her tummy and toes to hear her giggle, or place a hand on her chest to gently listen to her heartbeat. The more you play with her, the more she learns! She can even speak over 100 words and phrases! Caring for Luvabella is fun with her four interactive accessories. Use her spoon to feed her and she’ll chew with delight! If she’s not full, she may ask you for more. After her meal, help Luvabella learn new animal names and sounds with her Lamby toy! If she gets fussy, all she needs is her soother. When it’s time to go to bed after a big day of play, give her a bottle and lie her down. Just like a real baby, she needs your help to fall asleep! Rock Luvabella until she slowly closes her eyes. Real as can be, Luvabella has so many baby surprises to discover! Bring love home today!"
She is in very good condition, her face is a little dirty and her silicone skin has gotten kind of tacky but I think she will clean up good. She does have a scratch by her ear and did not come with her accessories but for 1.99 I can't be too picky and she does work.  She will be for resell of course unless my younger son claims her.

1994 Bandai Trini yellow power ranger doll

Hello doll lovers!! First off let me say sorry for the glare from the bag but this girl is being prepped for the kids consignment sale I sell in twice a year, and I forgot to take a pic of her before she was prepped. I got her a few months ago so I did not have my blog yet, but I thought she was so cool she deserved a feature, so here she is!  She was purchased for resell by me a couple of months ago at my local goodwill for .99 but she did not sell on ebay so she is going to the sale to make my money I paid for her back. I really did think she would sell well cause she is almost complete and in amazing condition but sadly unless in box these ladies do not go for much. This is the 1994 Bandai Trini yellow ranger doll, she could be purchased by herself or with Kimberly in a set (side note... I found Kimberley at my local salvation army but she only had her regular clothing no ranger outfit and since Trini here didn't sell with her almost complete self I did not take a chance on Kimberly). This girl had her shoes when I purchased her but they were broken so I threw them away and she only came with one glove but other than that she was complete and very pretty. Hopefully she will find a good home at the kids sale and make a little girl or boy happy.

$5 Flea Market Finds-american girl-disney-barbie

Hello doll lovers!! Went to a flea market this past weekend, flea markets are not what they used to be. The prices were a little high, when I think of flea markets I think of yard sale prices but that ain't it anymore. I did find a couple of dolls, most were expensive and even though they had huge price tags they were moldy and missing hair (there is only so much I can do). I got these 3 for $5 I thought that was the best deal at the market. The first doll is a 2014 Disney store singing princess Aurora (her face is beautiful), a my scene doll (I tried for days to identify her with now luck) and a mini American girl Caroline. They all need work but you know I don't mind. Hoping to identify my scene at some point. **I finally identified her (the my scene doll), in March of 2021, she is part of a set, the cruising in my ride set, with a black car and boy doll**

Trendmasters In the clouds Starcastle-with original accessories-purple

Hello doll lovers!! Was super excited to find this at a yard sale recently! This came from the same sale I got the Jazzie dolls at where they were selling a lot of girls toys. This is a trendmasters in the clouds starcastle, this is the purple version (there are several different color variations). It is in very good condition other than it has one flag missing. It comes with all of its accessories except for the key and one of the small birds. The size of these accessories blew me away but what was even more amazing is that someone kept up with them for all these years!! Oh and I only paid $1 for this beauty!

Salvation Army Finds.. AA Barbies-march of dimes and birthday barbie

Hello doll lovers!! Made a quick stop by the salvation army and all I brought home was these two girls. I do not find a lot of african american dolls in my hunts. So when I saw these two I grabbed them. They are in good condition, they just need their hair fixed and they do smell musty so I am hoping after bathes they will smell better. I also put a dryer sheet in a bag and close it while I wait to clean them, sometimes that helps with the musty smell. The one in the rainbow dress is 1997 birthday barbie, and the one in the work out clothes is 1998 march of dimes walk america barbie. They have their complete outfits but are missing shoes (I never find dolls with shoes). Gonna add these girls to my list of things to do, that list is getting pretty long, need to do something about that....

Hello doll lovers!! Well it's another pony post, I get lucky every now and then to find these guys. This is a 3rd year G1 pony, her name is lickity split and she came out is 84 or 85. She is a very pretty pink and her hair is a vibrant pink! I have seen this is a bit rare her hair is usually faded to white. I don't think this girl was played with much, her hair is messy but she is clean. I am going to fix her hair up and put her on ebay so she can go to a good home!

1992 Playskool Krystal Princess doll-Princess Krystal Hearts

Hello vintage doll lovers!! Today we have a salvation army find. This is a Krystal Princess doll from the early 90s. She is a little 2 in doll in the middle of a water globe, you can take the top of the globe off take her out to play with her, then put her back in to store her. Her globe has lost some water over the years I guess it has evaporated, most of the pics on google look the same. The glitter still floats if you turn it upside down. These came out in 1992 and was made by playskool. This is princess krystal hearts, she is in very good condition, she is missing her crown but does have her comb. The reason I have her comb in her hair is cause I thought that is what it was supposed to do till I did some research, lol. I only paid $1 for her and she brought back some memories!

Odette is rare to find I really wanted baywatch barbie because I found her dolphin (that makes real dolphin noises) in a bag of barbie stuff. Really excited to clean these girls up!

Dollar Doll Deals.... Skipper, Courtney and Stacie

Hello doll lovers!! Today we have a lot of skippers and stacie's. I love these face molds, they are so animated and cute. All of these girls came from the salvation army for $1 a piece, pretty good deal for clothed dolls. There is home coming skipper, Baby sitter skipper, pet pals courtney and skipper and 2 of the original stacie dolls. A couple of these have a problem with their head but I am hoping I can fix that. Skipper was my fav when I was younger. These dolls bring back so many memories, that is another reason I love hunting them!

Ahhhhh.... My childhood.....

I love going to a good yard sale or estate sale, mostly enjoy the estates sales cause you can find awesome things for a great deal that you were not expecting. My grandmother and I went to an estate sale earlier this summer and got a few unexpected deals. The house was full of the usual glass and outdated electronics (was a little disappointed there was no vintage Christmas but you can't win them all) but as I made my way into the living room I came face to face with an item I never expected.
We need a little back story before I continue on. In 1986 when I was 5 years old my grandma on my dad's side got an American Girl catalogue sent to her house for me. She really liked the dolls and that they were from historical times. Of course I was head over heels for these dolls (what little girl wouldn't be?) I would look through the catalog and make a list of the dolls I wanted and all the accessories. Of course when it came down to actually owning one.... I never got that chance, my parents said the dolls were too expensive for a young girl to have. At the time they were $90 which in the 80s (who am I kidding even today) was a lot of money to spend on a toy. Even though I did ask Santa for one for Christmas for 5 years in a row it never happened. Catalogs came to the house until the mid 90s but by then my doll days were over it was time for boys and clothes but I always held a spot for those beautiful dolls.
Fast forward to May of 2019 I am walking through this house and what do I see setting on a chair a pristine condition American Girl Molly doll! Why on earth is there an American Girl doll at an estate sale (do you ever wonder why something is in the house of an elderly person?). She was beautiful she had her original outfit, her hair was untouched and she had her glasses and case. She was the exact doll I wanted 30 years ago (I had a thing for glasses as a kid for some reason I wanted to wear them and any doll with them I adored)!  I picked up her book and sure enough it was copy righted 1986, the very first year they were sold and I had wanted one for Christmas. Her price tag said $20 which for an 80s american girl doll that is a deal but I knew she couldn't come home with me. I walked away to look at all the grown up items and left my childhood setting on the chair. As I finished looking at everything I made my way back over to the doll, just like 30 years ago I wanted her so bad.
My grandmother asked me what she was and I told her the whole story. She said maybe they will take less for her, she asked what I would pay for it. Of course I didn't have an answer cause I knew deep down I shouldn't get it. I am an adult not a child anymore, so I just shrugged. We went up to the lady taking the money, my grandmother asked if they would take any less for the doll. The lady said she would take $15, my grandmother said we will take it she wanted this doll 30 years ago I am going to get it for her now. I couldn't believe it, after all this time she was going to be mine. Now she means more to me than even back then cause my grandmother bought her for me as part of my birthday present. I know it sounds silly that a 38 year old woman would be that excited about a doll but I don't care, every time I look at her Ill think of both my grandmas and one day after I'm gone maybe she'll make another grown woman happy.
