Spotlight on My Collection-Mini American Girl Doll-Marie Grace

Hello doll lovers!! Wanted to share one of my finds from a year or so ago, this is the american girl mini Marie Grace doll. These dolls are 24.99 on the american girl website with a little book. I got this girl in a bag full of stuff at the goodwill for 2.99, of course I bought the bag for her but some other nice stuff came in it.
She is only missing her shoes and is in very good condition her hair is still nice and her clothes have no holes or stains. These little dolls are very well made just like the bigger girls. She is going to be so cute on display with my Caroline doll that I had to restore (she needed a lot of help, you can check out her makeover in another post). They are identical to their larger counter parts and so cute! They even have a material body and jointed arms and legs.
These are the only american girl doll I own besides the 80s original Molly my grandmother got me for my birthday last year. Was really lucky to find this girl in such great condition in a bag at goodwill, hoping to find more of these little dolls on my thrifting adventures! I really like the size of these girls I think it makes them easier to display than the larger ones.

Makeover Time..... Glitter and Gold Jem

Hello doll lovers!! Today I started the makeovers for the dolls I just recently bought at the salvation army. This is glitter and gold jem, she came out in 1987, I never owned her as a child I think it was the face. I didn't really like this face mold for Jem but it is growing on my now.
She was pretty easy to clean, her hair was not bad at all even with the tinsel (that can be a mess sometimes). She does have a black mark on her leg I could not get to come off. But her earrings do flash after I put new batteries in!! I cleaned her body and hair like I normally do (instructions at the bottom) and tried to magic erase her leg but it did not budge. I may try a stain treatment in the future but we shall see.
I got lucky the day I found her and found a doll with her outfit on! Of course she is missing some pieces to her outfit but she can be displayed. I left her hair down instead of the semi side pony tail that she originally came with. I like it down a lot better. I do not have any of her accessories but maybe I will find them one day.

(If you are wondering how I clean my dolls I use dish soap first then do a wash with some baking soda, I use a tooth brush for both of these steps. I clean their hair with dish soap too and use conditioner that I let set for about 10 min then comb through. For really damaged hair I use a boil wash, which is just some boiling water and you dunk their hair in or can let them set for a bit. All of my cleaning tips came from a YouTube channel called "a thousand splendid dolls" I love their channel and she has so many helpful tutorials. This is how I clean all the dolls and ponies I do restorations on.)

Doll Haul!!! 80s Ladies!! Jem-Barbie and the Rockers-and a Fashionista!!

Hello doll lovers!! Got to do a little thrift shopping today! I went to my favorite thrift store in my town the salvation army. I always find the best doll deals there. Today was a good day for sure it is not often I find this amount of awesome dolls in one trip.
I went to the back where the toys are, there was a lot of totes, one in particular stood out to me. It was clear so I could see a face that looked familiar to me peeking out the side. I dug through the stuffed animals to the bottom to find jem! I was super excited to find another jem (I found a first edition jem about 2 months ago at the same store with a peaches and cream barbie). Then I found 3 more awesome ladies under all the plushies.
In the bin was glitter and gold jem (i'm not a fan of her face I prefer the 1st ed jem face but she is pretty) and got lucky to find a fun or easy to dress barbie (from late 80s) wearing jems outfit (well not all of it just a couple pieces but at least she has clothes)!! Then I found barbie from the second wave of barbie and the rockers with her earrings and ring! Sadly she did not have her clothes, she was wearing barbie and the beat midges outfit (wish she would have been there too). Then on the very bottom I found barbie and the rockers dana (just so happens jem was wearing her outfit!!). The best part was these girls was only .59 a piece! That is why I love my salvation army they have good prices on most of their items. I also picked up a pretty barbie fashionista too, she was in a different bin and needs some work but for .59 I brought her home. Of course there will be posts with the dolls makeovers coming up cause I am super excited to get them cleaned up!

Makeover Time..... American Girl Mini Doll Caroline

Hello doll lovers!! I picked this sweet girl up last summer at a flea market (she may be in a haul post) for $2! This is the american girl mini Caroline doll. I was happy to find her, she is complete with shoes and all. Her poor dress had some issues. It had a stain on the back (did a stain treatment before washing) and the ruffle around the neck had unraveled, since I am not a seamstress I could not sew it. I cut it the rest of the way off and cut the strings that was left. It actually looks like it was made without a ruffle now.
I washed her head, arms and legs like I do with all my dolls (instructions will be at the bottom of the post). Her hair was pretty bad it was dirty and frizzy, I washed it like normal, added conditioner, let it set for a bit and combed through every curl, rinsed out the conditioner and let her dry. After she dried I redressed her and she looks like new! Her hair was very voluminous so I had to tie it back for now but glad I could save her curls, she is so pretty.
She will be displayed with my other mini american girl doll Marie Grace (she has her own post too! and she is in the last pic I so wish she had her shoes). I put a pic of her clothing items so you could see how much quality goes into the little dolls. I love these mini dolls they are so cute! I hope to find more in the future while thrifting.

Blind Box Opening.... Hatchimal CollEGGtibles 4 pack+extra figure

Hello doll lovers!! Found these cuties at my local goodwill this past weekend and thought it would be fun to open them with my boys. The youngest loves eggs and little animals sooooo it was perfect! In this set you received 4 surprise eggs and 1 animal you could see.
You have to get the egg warm in your hand then you can break it open to reveal your surprise, it says to rub the heart till it lightens, it lightened just holding it in my hand. These were really cute and my son loved watching me open the eggs. Now I do believe he has lost all of the surprises but we had fun and it was well worth the 1.99 I spent on the package!

Makeover Time..... Monster High-Skull Shores-Draculara-Ghoulia

Hello doll lovers!! Pulled two more of my dolls from storage to make them over. These are two monster high dolls from the skull shore line. There is Draculaura she is in pretty bad shape, very dirty and her hair needs help. Also my favorite ghoul is Ghoulia, she is in very good shape, hardly any dirt and her hair is still in it's original style.
I started with the hair again, by spraying goo gone on it, massaging it in and leaving it for two hours. Then I washed their bodies and hair like I always do (instructions will be at the bottom of the post).  I had to wash their hair several times to get the goo gone out of it. I also washed their shoes and accessories the same way I wash their bodies. They turned out awesome. I love Ghoulia so much!! I have two more girls from this line, I'm hoping to find the other three to complete the set. That is the best part about thrifting, looking for whole collections!

Bulk Makeover Time...... DC Super Hero Girls-Bat Girl-Harley Quinn-Super Girl

Hello doll lovers!! I have had these girls in a bin for a couple of years now, I decided to start actually cleaning up and making over some of my stored dolls. I decided to start with these girls because they have almost all of their accessories.
Bat girl was not to bad she had a spot on her face and her hair was tangled. Super girl was in very good condition she only needed wiped down and her hair was a little messed up. Harley Quinn as you can see had a spot on her face and her hair was messy. These girls was a pretty simple fix now to decided if I want to keep them or sell....

(If you are wondering how I clean my dolls I use dish soap first then do a wash with some baking soda, I use a tooth brush for both of these steps. I clean their hair with dish soap too and use conditioner that I let set for about 10 min then comb through. Makeover Time.... City Seasons Collector Barbies-Autumn In Paris-Summer In Rome

Hello doll lovers!! Today I am writing about my two city season ladies that I made over this past week. I got both of these girls in a box of dolls for 7.99 at my local goodwill, there was a lot of collector dolls in this box. I do not understand why people buy collector dolls for their kids to play with but this person obviously did.
The auburn hair girl is the autumn in paris city seasons collector barbie. Her outfit is so pretty she had everything but her walking stick, boots and hat. She still has her gold hoop earrings and ring. The other pretty lady is the summer in rome city seasons barbie. I wish she would have had her outfit so bad, it is so pretty but sadly she did not. She did have her gold earrings and ring, put her in this pretty blue sparkle gown, I think it suits her. Her face is so pretty and I hope to find more of these dolls.
I cleaned these dolls like I always do (information will be at the bottom of the post) and their hair was washed the same too. These girls was not dirty at all and their hair was very nice too. They did have a faint smoke smell, like the other dolls and it is still faintly there but not too noticeable. I am hoping with time it will fade completely.

Bulk Makeover Time..... Monster High-Skultimate Roller Maze-Goulia-Lagoona-Operetta

Hello doll lovers!! I have been going through my storage bins of dolls and decided to clean up a few of my monster high dolls that I have had stored for years. I get these dolls at thrift stores/yard sales. I started with the dolls that have their clothes and shoes.
These girls are from the skultimate roller maze line. There is Goulia (she is my favorite) she is missing all of her accessories and she is pretty dirty. Lagoona has a few of her accessories and is dirty too. Last is Operetta she has a few of her accessories too she is in nicer condition than the others.
One of the main reasons I did not want to clean these dolls is their hair. They have the infamous glue heads that mattel had from 2010-2013 (??) not all dolls but a lot of monster high and ever after high dolls were affected. It makes cleaning them up the dolls harder cause their hair is greasy feeling from the leakage and no amount of cleaning helps it. I researched so much to find a good method and decided on the goo gone method. You spray (or pour) goo gone in the doll hair, massage it in and let set for about two hours. Then you wash their bodies and hair like regular (those instructions will be at the bottom of the post).
