Spotlight On My Collection..... More Monster High Dolls-Ghouls Rule Spectra Vondergeist-Music Festival Venus Mcflytrap

Hello doll lovers!! It is time for another installment of... Spotlighting my collection.... Today we are looking at two more monster high girls, they are not from the same collections but they don't always have to be.
This is ghouls alive specta vondergeist and music festival venus mcflytrap. Both of these girls was in good condition when I found them at the goodwill, at different times of course. Spectra still lit up and made her sounds but now her battery has died but she did work. I do believe venus is complete with accessories and everything. I am always happy to find dolls complete with their clothes and shoes!

Out Of The Box..... Wild Hearts Crew-Polar Marine Biologist Barbie

Hello doll lovers!! I picked these girls up a few weeks ago and put them in a walmart clearance haul post. If you want to know what I paid for them and other info check out that post. This post is showing you a close up of what they look like out of the box.
I did not picture the barbies items she came with cause my son took off with the little penguin and the glasses are put away with accessories now. The wild hearts crew doll only came with a story pamplet and of course that did not last in our house.

Walmart Doll Clearance Finds... Wild Hearts Club-Barbie-Disney

Hello doll lovers!! Went to walmart this week and found clearance in the actual toy aisle. I thought all their clearance went to the clearance aisle but I guess not. Got a few good deals on some doll items so thought I would share.
I got the wild hearts club doll for 3.50 I really like the faces on these dolls they are very pretty. Wish I would have gotten the one that was on clearance about a month ago now but I talked myself out of her. I also picked up the career barbie outfit for $1 wish they would have had more outfits but I missed out on that.  Then I found the hasbro disney princesses comfy clothes fashion packs for $1 a piece too and of course wish they would have had more of those too. Atleast I found two of those, I do have a couple of disney princess dolls to make over so these clothes will be great for them! Lastly I found the national geographic barbie with her penguin for only $4!
Got some pretty good deals but also missed out on some good deals too. I saw some empty spaces that had some cool stuff that was a great price but was beat to it by someone else. I also left some neat things for someone else to find cause I did not need them and believe me it was hard, especially the calico critter blind bags for $1 a piece.

Makeover Time!! Monster HIgh Dolls-13 Wishes-Abby-Frankie-Clawdeen-GiGi

Hello doll lovers!! This is the last of the monster high dolls this week. I decided to do all these girls at the same time because they are from the same line. I just got gigi and frankie but have had abby and clawdeen for a while. Abby's hair was a nightmare, it was so greasy and dreaded but I got it looking pretty, I hate her curls came out but had to get that grease out of there. Gigi was hard to do cause she has a plastic ball thing to make her hair look like that and I couldn't get it just right but it was good for me. Frankie and Clawdeen was easy but they are missing shoes and some accessories. Hopefully I can find the missing pieces along they way. I really like this line and want to complete it if I can.

Restoration Time.... Bag of Cat Pee Clothing

Hello doll lovers!! In this post I am going to show you how I washed these nasty doll clothes. I mentioned these a few posts back about how I got these clothes at a thrift store and there was a story behind them. Well the story is simple, I paid $2 for the bag and opened them up to look at them to be smacked in the face with the worst cat pee smell ever!!!!
I am not a fan of cigarette smoke but I can tell you right now cat pee is worse to me for sure. I thought these clothes would never come clean. But they came out smelling like a rose, ummm like clean laundry but you get the idea.
First I prepared my bucket, I put hot water in and one scoop of oxyclean so it could dissolve, then I put in a small cap of downy scent beads and half a cup of laundry softner. I also sprinkled in some baking soda, dropped the clothes in and let them soak for 24 hours. I then drained them put them in a net bag and threw them in the washer with a load of our clothes. Then they went into the dryer (I have never had a problem doing this).
When they came out you couldn't even tell they had smelled so bad! The teacher barbie dress and the small cinderella dress was off of two thrift store dolls that I will be cleaning but I went ahead and threw them in with these to be washed (teacher barbies dress was so dusty it was awful). Hope this helps someone else and to let you know they can be saved.

Makeover Time... Monster High Dolls-Ghouls Night Out Rochelle-Frights Camera Action Operetta

Hello doll lovers!! I was on a roll this week cleaning these monster high girls up. In this group I have ghouls night out rochelle, she was easy to clean her hair was really greasy though. All of the grease came out and she was complete except for some accessories. Frights camera action operetta had hair issues too but she cleaned up nicely as well, she was missing her accessories and shoes but I think she turned out great!

Spotlight on my Collection.... 80s Barbies-Great Shape-Dream Wedding-Teen Time Skipper

Hello doll lovers!! Just another spotlight on my collection post, this one is a few of my 80s ladies that I want to hold on to. These girls have been made over by me a year or more ago, they are one of the firsts to be done. Of course I wasn't going to keep them but a year later here they are.......
There is teen time skipper (missing most of her outfit), great shape barbie (missing her accessories, but I may have her shoes around here) and then there is dream bride barbie (she is from 91). Dream bride is missing her veil and jewelry and I need to curl her hair but being in storage I decided to wait. All of these girls was bought at goodwill mostly in bags but dream wedding was .99 by herself.

Out Of The Box... 1989 Barbie Babes-Peach Pretty-Enchanted Evening

Hello doll lovers!! This is the out of the box for the 1989 beauties we talked about yesterday. Of course they are gorgeous and their clothes are amazing and very 80s. I was a bit confused that peach pretty came with teal shoes but ok I guess, they are featured on the box so I guess they meant to do that. I love enchanted evenings dress and how you can change the look of the outfit. These are a favorite pick up for sure. (ps sorry about the first pic I must have had the camera wrong)

New in Box Yard Sale Finds-Peach Pretty and Evening Enchantment Barbie 1989

Hello doll lovers!! Went to a few yard sales this past weekend and found one with a lot of boxed dolls. Never a good thing for me cause I want them all.... I did contain myself and only buy a few but it was hard to decide.
In the end I picked peach pretty barbie (mainly because she reminds me of peaches and cream I think she may have been the updated version). The second one I picked was the evening enchantment barbie (I pickder her because my grandmother got me her for Christmas and I wanted to have her back). Both of these girls are from 1989, that is my golden age of barbie I was 8 so she was my favorite then.
On peach pretty's box she has a kmart price sticker of 19.00 that was a lot for a doll back then. The evening enchantment doll does not have a price tag so I am unsure of hers, she was a sears exclusive so it would be hard to find it. My grandma ordered everything out of the sears catalog so it is no surprise she got me this doll. I have opened these girls and they are just as pretty outside of their box.

Almost A Whole Year Of This Doll Blog..... I Am A Doll Collector and I Love to Hunt Them Too!!

Hello doll lovers!! It is almost one whole year since I started this blog, alot can change in a year. This year has been absolutely crazy and I can say with out a doubt that it has been different for everyone on the planet. But I will say that starting this blog has been so great for me. Even though no one reads my posts I still love writing them and sharing them, more for me than anything. It helps me to remember when I purchased dolls and it lets me look back on my restorations (since they are in storage for now).
When I say that a lot can change in a year, boy you can tell by this blog. When I started this blog a year ago I was in denial about my doll "collecting" I kept saying "I don't collect but I love to hunt them" that was complete denial because I did not want to admit to myself there was another collection in my house. If I kept saying oh I am going to restore and sell these it didn't seem so bad to buy them. I have since let myself be ok with collecting my dolls, in fact I may have made it a little too ok for me. I used to reign it in a bit but now I'm Ariana Grande "I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it"....... I am really trying to stop that mind set, lord knows I have so many dolls that need restored already but if I see a vintage girl or a monster high I am going to get it. Or an american girl doll, bitty baby, ever after high I need to stop the list is endless.
I have been a lot happier lately and I do enjoy my thrift adventures every week to see what I can find. The possibility of finding some rare or hard to find doll out thrifting for mere pocket change is such an awesome feeling. I also still like to sell dolls as well of course but it has been a little harder this year but I am hoping to get back to that in the next year or so. I enjoy sharing my excitement and my restorations, this blog gives me a purpose, it's my hobby..... Wow I can finally say I have a hobby, but I really can't say that to anyone in my actual life. I mean they would be like are you seriously a 39 year old woman playing with dolls?? Of course that would be a big time YEP! So I guess what I am saying is "I AM a doll collector and I LOVE to hunt them too!"

Goodwill Finds for the Past Week! Disney Animator/Fairies-Barbie

Hello doll lovers!! I have been to the goodwill a few times the past couple of weeks and of course I picked up so great dolls!
First is the disney animators repunzal doll she was 1.99, her face is absolutely precious. Next are 2 of the mid 2000s disney fairies dolls, there is tinkerbell and reni (tinkerbell is wearing her outfit!)  they were .50 a piece. Lastly is the lights and lace barbie (I identified her by her earring) and 1980 my first barbie (I identified her by her eyes and her legs) for .50 a piece too!
They all have their issues but you know your girl likes a challenge! Repunzals hair needs a lot of work but that is the main reason I bought her.
