Makeover Time... Stacie and Whitney Gymnast Sets

Hello doll lovers!! Finally it is time for a makeover post, I have about 3 totes full of dolls that are waiting makeovers but instead of working on any of them I decided to start on the dolls I recently picked up. Makes sense, right??
This week I picked up a couple boxes of barbies and accessories. This is from the 9.99 box of 90s dolls and clothes. This is the 1995 set of Stacie and Whitney gymnastic sets. Stacie came with the bars and Whitney came with the balance beam.
I washed the dolls like I always do (those instructions will be at the bottom). Whitney had a melted rubber band in her hair but it washed out easy. I tried my best to give them their original hair styles, whitney gave me some trouble (you wouldn't think a twist style would be hard) but thanks to a youtube video I figured it out.  They both had a bit of a basement smell (I am sure that they were stored in one). They still have a bit of a smell but not too bad unless you put them right in your face.  I didn't have to boil wash their hair it was fairly soft and had shine.
I washed the equipment sets the same way I washed the dolls and I also hand washed their clothes because I forgot to take them off when I washed all the other clothes. I may need to put them in the washer cause they still have a musty smell. Overall I am happy with how they turned out. I do believe I will be selling this set because I am not into the sister dolls. If I do they are going to be ready to go to their new home!

(If you are wondering how I clean my dolls I use dish soap first then do a wash with some baking soda, I use a tooth brush for both of these steps. I clean their hair with dish soap too and use conditioner that I let set for about 10 min then comb through. For really damaged hair I use a boil wash, which is just some boiling water and you dunk their hair in or can let them set for a bit. All of my cleaning tips came from a YouTube channel called "a thousand splendid dolls" I love their channel and she has so many helpful tutorials. This is how I clean all the dolls and ponies I do restorations on.)
