Hello doll lovers!! Did a few bulk makeovers the past week or so, as you know I got around 40 dolls a week or so ago and I am trying to get them cleaned up instead of putting them in the three totes I already have.....
In this grouping I have a curvy fashionista, she was an easy clean and I happen to have a cute outfit for her to wear. A long hair barbie doll (I tried researching her but could not find anything to identify her) I put her in a pretty red velvet dress to match her lips and put an elastic band around her head like a headband because her hair was up in a pony tail so it was indented. Lastly is a disney/mattel wedding day sleeping beauty doll, her face is so pretty, sadly I do not have her dress so I put her in a different pink dress and she looks great.
I washed the dolls like I always do (instructions will be at the bottom of the post) and washed their hair as normal too. These girls were not dirty at all but they did have a bit of a smoke smell. They still have a faint smell but unless you get right up on the doll they are fine. Trying to get my backlog of dolls started too but wanted to get these girls out of the way first.
(If you are wondering how I clean my dolls I use dish soap first then do a wash with some baking soda, I use a tooth brush for both of these steps. I clean their hair with dish soap too and use conditioner that I let set for about 10 min then comb through. For really damaged hair I use a boil wash, which is just some boiling water and you dunk their hair in or can let them set for a bit. All of my cleaning tips came from a YouTube channel called "a thousand splendid dolls" I love their channel and she has so many helpful tutorials. This is how I clean all the dolls and ponies I do restorations on.)
