Hello doll lovers!! I did a few makeovers this week and I got started on my ever after high dolls! This is the first one I have ever cleaned up, up until recently I only had 8 of these dolls but I found some online so my collection grew a bit, I now have 25.
This girl is the chapter one apple white doll, I got her in a lot with 2 other dolls, she came out to cost around 7.50. She had her dress, hose, shoes and jewelry (half of her purse but no head band). When I received her she had a white residue on her but it didn't take me long to figure out it was powder. This doll had a glue problem (mattel used glue to hold the hair in and after time it breaks down and comes out of the head and down the hair) her hair was so greasy.
I cleaned her immediatly she got the pure citrus air freshener treatment (I seen this method on a youtube channel I believe it is called unicorns and rainbows, they use this orange air freshener and it does wonders on getting the glue out and the hair to not be greasy) you just spray it in let it set a few min then wash like normal. She got the usual dish soap, baking soda wash with a tooth brush and a pass over with the magic eraser. Then I washer her hair with dish soap twice and put conditioner on the ends. Then combed it out and let her air dry over night.
I hand washed her clothes to get the powder residue off and let them dry over night too. I then redressed her and styled her hair (just combed it cause that is all it needed wish she had her headband but maybe I can find one for her one day). Her hair is so soft and smooth, no greasy feeling at all and no powder residue. I can't believe how easy the process is, now I don't hate doing the dolls with gluey hair! She is a really pretty doll and I like her alot. Stay tuned for more transformations from this week!
